About

Hi there! I'm Peter Allen and welcome to my blog on all things motorsport. Thank you for visiting - in return I shall give you a brief history of how this blog came to exist....

I follow a wide range of four-wheeled racing series, from Formula 1 to touring cars, rallying to sportscars. I set up a blog/website named Front of the Grid in October 2009, also setting up a Twitter profile in order to help promote it. I began with a mix of news and opinion, but soon found there was no point in just repeating the same news that can be found in so many other places on t'internet, so it quickly became a place for me to express my opinions on motorsport. I continued to post the occasional news story, where other news outlets had not yet produced it - stories such as revealing Bamboo Engineering were to embark on a World Touring Car Championship campaign.

In September 2010 I joined the team at The Checkered Flag, covering series such as WTCC and GP2. This reduced the amount of time I could put into the Front of the Grid, though in December I decided to set up a new blog using a new host (Blogger, rather than Weebly) - and here it is!

Earlier in 2010 I changed the name of my Twitter account to @Pete93Allen with the idea of it becoming a more personal, less anonymous account. I can often be found voicing my opinions there, but the 140 character limit means that my larger opinions get put into writing here.
